After your operation, you may wake up in the recovery room with a pillow between your legs. This is to stop you from crossing your legs and potentially dislocating your hip. For comfort’s sake, it’s best to sleep on your back at first, but as you recover, you will be able to sleep comfortably on your side, with a pillow between your legs to stabilise your new hip.
